Logistics

Travel Information: The main training area is located in the foothills of the White Mountains in Campton, New Hampshire, only a few miles from I-93. Local driving directions will be sent after registration.

Arrival and Departure: Each class day will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Accommodations: Plan to camp on-site and to use the shelter that you build.  Review the gear list and bring the appropriate gear to remain overnight safely and comfortably.

Meals: We may have group meals occasionally, but please plan on providing meals for yourself.  Group meals will be announced prior to your arrival at the course area.

Deposit Policy: Your spot in a class is not secured until we receive your deposit, which is 50% of the class fee.  Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Full payment is expected 30 days prior to the course start date. If a course is already full, we will refund 100% of your deposit.

Cancellation and Refund Policies: With cancellations more than 30 days in advance of the class, the cost, less the deposit, will be refunded. With cancellations less than 30 days prior to the start of the class all monies are non-refundable and non-transferable. These policies reflect the fact that we do not overbook, and cancelled spaces are very difficult to fill at the last minute. If we must cancel a class, 100% of the fee and deposit will be refunded.

Liability Release Policy: Before the start of each class, all participants are required to have signed a Liability Release form, Acknowledgement of Risk form, and Photo Release form.

Gear Loaning Policy: We don’t have a lot of extra equipment that can be lent out. Please read the Gear List to ensure you have everything you need.

Tobacco Policy: We will be working and living the field, so smoking is permitted only in the specified smoking areas. All cigarette butts are to be disposed of properly in the trash.

Training Area Info: The training area is located on 40 plus acres of private, raw land. There are no structures, running water, or electricity. If you plan on using any electronics, think about bringing a portable battery charger. We will be using a compositing system. Hand washing stations, potable water, and overhead cover will be provided. Keep in mind that we don’t have an alternative to the composting system. If using a composting toilet makes you significantly uncomfortable, then this class probably is not a good option for you.

Parking Info: There is a designated parking area at the training site. Details will be sent along with directions after you register.

Note:  We reserve the right to pause or stop training at any time due to factors that make the training unsafe such as inclement weather or participant behavior. If you have questions about the course, don’t hesitate to contact us.
